Mood episodes<br>2. Mood disorders<br>3. Specifiers describing recent mood episodes and recurrent course. For example:<br>          -Anxious distress<br>          -Atypical features &#8211; feeling of being sluggish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-9e4cfcec1a436f5aee6c196be958ae29\" style=\"color:#39906d\"><strong>Mood Episodes &#8211; Related to Depression<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>A mood episode refers to any period of time when a client feels abnormally happy and or sad.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> Examples of mood episodes include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em><strong>Major Depressive Episode<\/strong><\/em>: For at least two weeks, the client feel depressions (or cannot enjoy life) and has problems with eating, sleeping, guilt feelings, low ehngnery, trouble concentrating, and thoughts about death<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-a53778864dd744fccf5a5aae2c06ce86\" style=\"color:#0d73af\"><strong>Mood Disorder- Related to Depression<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>A mood disorder is a pattern of mental health concerns due to abnormal mood.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em><strong>Major Depressive Disorder<\/strong>:<\/em>\u00a0Clients that experience and have had one or more major depressive episodes. Major depressive disorder can be either recurrent or a single episode<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em><strong>Persistent\u00a0Depressive Disorder<\/strong>:\u00a0<\/em>There are general no high phases here. Sadness lasts much longer than typical major depressive disorder. \n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>This type of depression is not usually severe enough to be called an episode of major depression.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em><strong>Disruptive\u00a0Mood Dysregulation Disorder:\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>A child&#8217;s mood is persistently negative between frequent, severe explosions of temper.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-a7a960ec3c1eba429a8a502045ee50d4\" style=\"color:#9e1616;text-transform:capitalize\"><strong>How Can You Support a Client with Depression? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Your client may benefit from receiving therapy, such as <em>Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) <\/em>or <em>Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)<\/em>&nbsp;(a type of CBT), for their depression.
