General Learning Disability Supports
Build awareness of learning disabilities and general strategies that will be helpful for your client.
It will be important for and parents to get a better understanding of learning disabilities and the types of supports that help if they do not already have awareness. Your client’s teachers will have a good understanding of learning disabilities, and may want access to further ideas for classroom strategies and support.

Help your client to understand his/her learning profile. An important goal for students with a learning disabilities is self-advocacy. Over the coming years, help your client understand their learning profile, what helps them in school, and how to ask teachers for what they need. Understanding their needs may help them to more readily accept support in the future.

- Your client would benefit from individualized support to assist his areas of need. Consultation from an educational specialist is recommended to monitor his/her learning.
